Seventh Grade Science Projects

Mrs. Shugart's Seventh Grade Science students are currently working on a unit covering Reproduction and Heredity. At the end of January, they were to create a project that represented the cell cycle with the main focus being on Mitosis - the forming of two nuclei, each with a complete copy of DNA. The 7th graders learned that this is the process that allows their bodies to grow and repair, and it ties in with reproduction. Their models had to represent the phases that cells progress through in order for this to occur.

Now, they are currently working on heredity. With this project, the students were given information concerning the genetic makeup of two parent plants. With this information and content learned in class, students predicted the outcome of their flowers. The project for this assignment consisted of a drawing of their flower.

Well, done Seventh Grade Science!
