State Ring Ceremony
June 11, 6:30 PM
@ Strawn Pavilion

Our yearbook is officially finished & submitted! 🎉🎉🎉
We set a new record on sales with 42 pre-orders! Add in the copies we gift to our admin & school board, and we only have 15 books left to sell in the fall. That is NOT a lot. We highly recommend that you order a yearbook online rather than chance us running out! Our site will be open for online orders until June 30th. Don't miss out!

Thank you to Dollar General Literacy Foundation for our 2022 summer grant! Funding received will support our Summer Reading Program! #dollargeneralliteracygrant

The Greyhound Yearbook Class had the opportunity to partner with the Strawn Chamber of Commerce & Museum for our service project this year. Communicating with Amy May, our class created a beautiful brochure to serve as the Strawn Chamber of Commerce Business Membership Directory. This full color tri-fold brochure is printed on 83 pound, matte paper, which was donated to the cause by Susan Hurley.
We are grateful for this experience, in which we could apply and improve our research & design skills. Thank you for working with us and continually supporting our yearbook program!

High School STAAR EOC Test Review will be Monday - Thursday from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM, on June 6-9 & June 13-16.
The STAAR Retest will be on the following days:
English I - June 21
US History and Biology - June 22
English II - June 23

We are blessed to have law enforcement frequently check in on our campus, especially when they are as caring as State Trooper Gutierrez who took the time last week to visit with Kindergarten, comfort a crying Pre-K student, and shoot a couple hoops with one of our Seniors!

We have several positions available here at Strawn ISD for the upcoming school year. Please share with anyone you think would be a great fit for our Greyhound family!

Strawn High School Graduation Ceremony:
May 27th, 7:00 PM, Strawn ISD Gym

This morning, Ms. Harris made the switch from teacher to student! Her third graders took turns to Teach the Teacher and the rest of the class to how to do something. Each "teacher" had 5 to 10 minutes to explain and model the process!
Check out our Facebook page for more photos!

Field Day will be tomorrow, May 26th, and will begin at 9:00 AM with elementary! We will have water slides, water balloons, games, music, and snow cones! Junior High will participate from 11:00 AM-12:00 PM. High School will begin at 12:30 PM and finish at 2:00 PM.
Please remember to send your child to school with a water bottle, sunscreen, towel, and extra change of clothes.

Yesterday we treated a group of students to a movie, pizza, and ice cream for reaching all their IXL goals for both math AND reading every cycle! This takes a lot of dedication and time; many of these guys worked on their IXL at home. We are so proud of every single one of them!
