"There are several active fires south of Strawn. The largest plume of smoke is from a fire that is currently south of Lipan. There is another fire west of Huckaby just north of the windmills. Additionally, the Eastland Complex fires are still active. Strawn ISD has agreed to open the gym to evacuees if necessary. We will post updates if our area comes under direct threat."

This week, Amon Carter Museum came to Strawn to share an interactive art experience with our Junior High! Students in grades 6 - 8 were able to experiment with printmaking. This process includes creating an image on a gelli plate, applying ink, and transferring it to paper. Take a look at our artists and their work!

Reading is fun - especially during Read Across America!
We celebrated this fun occasion all week long with wacky hair and outfits, green eggs and ham, and many more fun activities!
- PreK had green eggs & ham, Cat in the Hat treats, and flower treats from Horton Hears a Who, and they made crazy socks from Fox in Socks!
- Kinder dressed up all week and read outside!
- 1st & 2nd dressed up all week, read in tents, grew mustaches, and read with flashlights!
- 4th & 5th read in tents with younger students!
