GermBlast came to disinfect our facilities on Monday, November 9th. The following is the service summary.

There will be no school on Friday due to the scheduled Teacher Work Day. Have a safe, long weekend!

***TICKET INFO: Tickets for the Bi-District Championship game tomorrow are available at Strawn ISD Central Office (early purchase) or at the HICO Stadium. Only 100-150 tickets are available to public at the gate. Students - $2; Adults - $4

Working with the Strawn Chamber of Commerce, the Greyhound Yearbook Class is seeking donations of canned and non-perishable goods to be delivered to our Angel Tree families in December so everyone can make a holiday meal! We are looking for stuffing mixes, dessert mixes, cranberry sauce, turkey gravy, instant mashed potatoes, items for green bean casserole, etc. We would like to thank you in advance for your generosity and giving spirit! Strawn ISD will be a drop-off point from now until December 11th. We will station a collection basket by the double doors near the office so that community members can drop off items without breaking our visitor policy due to COVID-19. Our campus is closed today, Monday 9th, and will be closed the week of Thanksgiving. If you have any questions or need an alternate drop-off time, please contact Mrs. Ellis. (254) 672-5776

BI-DISTRICT PLAYOFF GAME Come support your Greyhounds as they take on the Walnut Spring Hornets on Thursday, November 12th, 6:30 PM at Tiger Stadium in Hico!

Bake Sale today at Greyhound Pac-A-Sac, starting at 9 AM and benefitting our Strawn Youth Association. Come by and get some baked goods before they run out!

District Championship Game tonight at Greyhound Stadium. The Strawn Greyhounds will play their rival, the Gordon Longhorns, starting at 7:30 PM. Come out and support your Hounds!

Third Grade spent the morning in the operating room with their Chief of Surgery, Ms. Harris! After diagnosing their patients, they carefully transplanted the prescribed Text Features and completed their Post-Op Reports! Strawn ISD will be closed Monday, November 9, 2020, to keep our healthy students from becoming ill, to give ill students the opportunity to recover, and to allow GermBlast specialists time to clean and disinfect classrooms and areas.

Friday is the big rival game between the Strawn Greyhounds and the Gordon Longhorns! Wear your best cowboy attire, and let's rope some longhorns! Pep Rally will be on the playground at 3:10 - masks required - with a Snake Drive to follow! We'll see you at Greyhound Stadium on Friday night at 7:30!

LOGAN'S PICKS Logan Sizemore, a Senior at Strawn ISD, aides the Library daily. Logan checks in, organizes, and helps sanitize returned books. Now, Logan is also picking out books he thinks our young readers may enjoy. The next time you stop by the Library, take a moment to look over Logan's Picks and see if he found the right one for you!
