The Texas Department of State Health Services will be offering flu shots in the nurse's office at Strawn ISD on Thursday, Oct. 22, from 2:00 - 6:00 PM, for anyone in the community!
$10/person or $20/family
Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Please remember that masks are required on our campus.
To continue our National Yearbook Week, we're pairing with Strawn 4-H to help grow the Photography department. Students in grades 3-12 can participate in the 4-H Photography Contest(s) without traveling to shows, so it's easy and doesn't require too much of your free time!
Do you love taking pictures? Do you see the world from a different perspective than most? Do little things catch your eye? Did you want to be in Yearbook but are too young or can't fit it in your schedule? Meet with Mrs. Ellis for tips, guidelines, and more information about Photography!
4-H Membership is $25 during the month of October, so sign up now before it goes up! If the $25 is preventing you from participating, please talk to us! We may be able to help.
Mr. Thornton has his Professional Communication class to do morning announcements! They lead the student body in the pledges, have a moment of silence, and announce the lunch menu, any birthdays, and various reminders. Jett adds his personal touch by also stating the weather for the day!

Strawn ISD is phasing out its water fountains for these sleek filling stations! At the start of school, we were buying bottled water for all our students. These filling stations will help keep our students and staff hydrated and cut down on the plastic water bottle waste! If you have a refillable water bottle or insulated cup at home, please send it with your child!

Our yearbook class personally presented the 2020 Greyhound Yearbook to our Strawn School Board of Trustees tonight at the board meeting. Thank you for making time for us and for your dedication to our students, staff, and District. We truly appreciate you!
SENIOR NIGHT!
Because students do not have class on Friday, the HS Pep Rally has been moved to Thursday, October 1st, at 3:10 PM, on the playground. We will be honoring our Seniors involved in fall sports. Please wear a mask and social distance.
We will also honor our Seniors on Friday, October 2nd, at 7:00 PM before the game, which is scheduled to begin at 7:30 PM.
Tomorrow is Picture Day! Please make checks payable to Strawn ISD.
Virtual Learners: We'll see you in the gym between 7:45 and 8:15! Please remember to wear your mask until it's your turn to be photographed!
On-Campus Students (PreK-11) and Staff: You will be photographed in the gym from 8:15 to 11:45. Our goal is to have all of you finished before your scheduled lunch! Please remember to wear your mask until it's your turn to be photographed!
Seniors: We will begin photographing you after lunch, 12:30. We will start with those in volleyball as they are leaving early. You will take your normal portrait in the clothes you are wearing, then take photos in the cap & gown. Please bring a nice shirt to wear under the gown. Your collar may be visible, so white would be an excellent option. Please remember to wear your mask until it's your turn to be photographed!

First and Second Grade are ready for Fall! They painted their backgrounds, glued trunks made from magazine clippings, and finger painted the trees' leaves using fall colors.
