Come to school Monday repping your favorite college!

The most effective learning takes place when school, parents, and students work together and communicate in a respectful manner.
Our partnership pledge will be going home with students this week. Please sign and return. Thank you!

VIRTUAL LEARNERS: Please remember you can pick up lunch each day at 10:30 AM.

All students grades Pre-K through 12 must return their registration packets to their teacher or the office.
Please provide valid information so we can contact you in regards to your child and send messages related to attendance, emergencies, or inclement weather. There are also forms on our open campus policy for lunch as well as allergy/medical alerts and more.
In this packet is also our Release of Student Work and Image form. This allows us to brag on your students here on our website and school Facebook page, and send their accomplishments to our local newspaper when applicable!
Please fill out the forms and return your packet as soon as possible!

Welcome back! We want to see your First Day of School photos! Whether you are on our campus or joining us virtually, we are so excited to experience this school year with you! Snap a photo and share it with us below!

Tomorrow is the beginning of another great year at Strawn ISD! We cannot wait to see our young Greyhounds back in our hallways and classrooms!

You all know that Monday, August 24th marks the beginning of our new school year together, and on behalf of our school board, faculty, and staff, we are very excited to welcome you to the 2020-2021 school year!

Parent & Family Guidance During COVID-19
What To Do If My Child Is Sick
Strawn ISD has implemented the following response protocols to address incidents of COVID-19 confirmed diagnosis or exposure of a student or employee.

Thank you, First National Bank of Strawn, for taking such good care of our teachers and staff here at Strawn ISD! We are so grateful for your support of our school and community!

August Cafeteria Menu
You can also find the menu for each day on the Dining section of our app and website! Our cafeteria has a few changes this year; stay tuned for more on that later this afternoon!

Due to COVID-19, Strawn ISD has several new procedures in place to protect your child's health, many of which concern our Cafeteria. Please familiarize yourself with the following information:
• Please have your child practice opening containers and packages to minimize our cafeteria monitors' contact with your child's food.
• There will be no microwave in our cafeteria this year. Please keep that in mind as you pack your child's lunch. If a student brings a frozen meal, he will instead be served a hot lunch from the cafeteria.
• No outside food or drink. Students may bring a lunch from home, but parents/students may not bring food from Pac-A-Sac, etc. onto our campus. Any leftover food or drinks must be thrown away before entering the building. Only bottled water is allowed on campus.
• The Strawn Cafeteria will not have a Snack Cart this year. JH & HS may bring individually packaged snacks from home to eat in the classroom at the designated time, but they may not share with any other student.
• Students will wear a face mask/shield/gaiter to the cafeteria but may take it off while eating.
• The cafeteria line has placement stickers to help students stay 6 feet apart while getting their food, and their ID number will be manually entered by staff so they are not all touching the keypad.
• Students will be seated every other seat at the table to distance as much as possible.
• Tables will be sanitized with a bleach water solution between classes.
*** Virtual learners may pick up to-go lunches each week day at 10:30 AM.

We've been busy all summer!
Thank you to Daryl Atkins for his dedication to the maintenance of Strawn ISD and preparations for the new year. We are also very grateful to the people of Faulk Company - namely Irma Nuñez, Lupe Marroquin, & Jennifer Ballard - who scrubbed our campus from top to bottom, waxed the floors, and much more! And we cannot forget our Administration, who worked tirelessly all summer to provide our staff and community with information and a plan for the school year.
In addition, we've also made some visible changes. Check them out here on our Summer Summary!
