Tomorrow the Strawn Cheerleaders will have a show off at noon in the gym to show all the hard work they have put in this week! The community is encouraged to come out and be a part of their big day!

Strawn ISD Library FIELD TRIP! First grade and up are invited to hike with us at the Palo Pinto Mountains State Park on Thursday, June 22, 2023! Pick up your permission form in the library. Week 3 of our Summer Library Program brought in 107 students! Big thank you to Art Sahlstein at ESC Region 11 for coming out to share his knowledge on fossils, hadrosaurs, and more! We had so many kids (42) with great questions, who got to hold fossils, and each of them went home with a crystal! Art brought these because crystals glittering on the hillside is what originally led him to the Arlington Archosaur Site! In addition to all of this, he discussed his finding of Scolomastax Sahlsteini, or as he affectionately calls it, The Little Nipper. This was such a fun presentation, and we are thrilled that so many were able to attend!

Another successful week of the Summer Library Program - our attendance this week totaled 79! We are so happy to see our students reading and learning over the summer. Thank you, Greg Milner, for coming today to share your knowledge and skills on rock polishing! The children loved feeling all the different types of rocks and learning about the polishing process. Thanks also for giving each of them their own sample and a small bag of rock candy!

Parents of Students in Grades 4 - 6: If your children are attending the Makerspace today from 1:00 - 3:00, please walk them to the library for drop-off so you can sign our Makerspace Code of Conduct Agreement!

These bikes were generously donated by WAM Essentials here in Strawn, and students (grades 1-5) could earn tickets for the drawing by reading! Our winners were Talan Garcia, July Nuñez, Elijah Rodriguez, Colt Fambro, Camden Rodriguez, Caydence Parsons, Renata Aguado, Samantha Rivera, Neyli Reyes, & Lyla Whitenton. Congratulations!

Strawn Youth Summer Track PreK - 8th Grade

Mrs. Pollock's 4th & 5th Graders who met their reading goals were rewarded with a trip to Greystone Castle! Thank you to Kevin Sewell for being an excellent guide!

How fun is this?! Cafeteria staff members Maria Berumen, Beth Smith, & Lupe Marroquin made a fun ocean themed Jell-O for our students because it is o-FISH-ally the last week of school! Thank you for serving smiles with our meals every day and making our students' time here at school memorable and special!
